Maple Leaf has been tauting this new packaging for their bacon: it's RESEALABLE. 

Such an innovation, that the commercial would have you think that any woman would be able to trap her man into marriage by getting down on one knee and proposing to him with pound 'o pork in hand.  I'm left to wonder though if this would work on women...although I didn't receive the proposal, I did receive the pound of repackagable pork by way of apology...

However, I digress....

What's my point?  Who the hell ever even tries to reseal a package of bacon???????

Do we not, once it's open...just pull it all out and cook it all????  Even if, God forgive me, it wasn't eaten in one sitting (add to that the few pieces that we shove into our faces before we actually serve it to the rest of the pork purveyors at the table), then aren't we happy to stick it in a ziploc bag in the fridge and use it later...for, I don't know....bacon bits? a blt sandwich?  We're always hopeful anyway...you know as well as I do, it doesn't make it to the fridge.  Somebody inevitably, decides that they still have room for at least one more piece of bacon as they're walking to the sink with their empty plate.

Marketing....crazy, ridulous use of time, energy, money.  I'm sure some poor sap was charged with engineering the machine that would build this stupid resealable package.  And I guess it worked.  They get to charge more for it....she bought it....I forgave her....at least until the bacon's gone. 

On the upside, it's recyclable...so now I'm feeling guilty for having thrown it out.
